Saint Thomas Health Midtown babies

-The Foundation celebrates another successful charity event at Loveless Barn-

Nashville, Tenn. (Nov. 2013) — The Saint Thomas Health Foundation is proud to announce another successful year for the Rock the Cradle charity event, benefiting the Saint Thomas Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

This year’s Rock the Cradle, which included a cocktail reception, dinner, live auction and private concert had over 400 attendees.. Rock the Cradle is hosted each fall by the Saint Thomas Health Foundation, and all proceeds from the event benefit the thousands of babies born at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital.

Each year, a Nashville celebrity musician rocks the Loveless Barn with a private concert for attendees. This year, chart-topping vocalist Jake Owen lent his time, vocals and humor to entertain attendees with his number one hits, his all-time-favorite songs and stories about his daughter born last year at Saint Thomas.

Past performers have included Ronnie Milsap, Big and Rich, Faith Hill and Martin McBride.

“We are honored that so many of Nashville’s finest performers, including Jake, support our cause,” said Bernie Sherry, president and CEO of Nashville Inpatient Operations for Saint Thomas Health. “As parents themselves, these performers understand the importance of raising funds and awareness for this vital program, that focusing on caring for new babies.”

At this year’s event Saint Thomas Health Foundation announced the founding of a new endowment fund for newborn care named in honor of the late Nancy and Bud Adams.   The Adams’ had long supported the newborn programs at Saint Thomas Midtown both personally and through the Tennessee Titans Foudnation.

Past Rock the Cradle events have raised more than $500,000 to support obstetrics care and the Beaman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The event has been lead by well-known Music Row executives Connie Bradley and Troy Tomlinson since its inception. .  Thanks to the generosity of donors, thousands of babies and their families have benefited from cutting-edge technology and financial assistance to those with urgent needs. With ongoing community support through events like Rock the Cradle, Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital continues to provide expert care that is both life-changing and life-saving.

Funding from the Saint Thomas Health Foundation has helped renovate and equip Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital’s NICU, provide continuing education for nurses and other staff and assist families who have a critical need because their baby is in the NICU.
