Pharmacy Residency

The PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency was established in 1988. Accredited by American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, this 12 month, full time program provides opportunities in clinical pharmacy services and pharmacy operations. The residency tailors to each individual resident’s goals, three elective learning experiences are offered. Learning experiences are 3 to 6 weeks in duration.

Pharmacists completing this residency will be competent and confident practitioners of patient care. They will assume the responsibility of pharmaceutical care for patients while productively functioning as members of the health care team in multiple patient care environments. They will demonstrate an aptitude for the skills necessary for the leadership and management of pharmacy practice. These practitioners will serve the profession by providing appropriate medical information to fellow health care professionals as well as the community that we serve. They will demonstrate professional maturity by practicing a personal philosophy of self-development and demonstrating commitment to the profession.
