Pressure Ulcers

Pressure Ulcer (facility-acquired) is an observable pressure-related alteration of intact skin which was not identified and documented within the first 24 hours of a patient's admission to a Saint Thomas Health Services hospital. The pressure ulcer (facility-acquired) incidence rate is the number of patients with a hospital-acquired pressure ulcer per thousand patient days. Lower numbers reflect fewer incidents of pressure ulcers developing while in the hospital setting.
