Stroke

Every 45 seconds, someone in America will fall victim of a stroke. Immediate, individualized care is the key to maximum recovery. When a stroke occurs, the Saint Thomas Health Services team is ready with expert care 24/7.

Because strokes occur anytime of the day or night, our stroke care team, specially trained in the treatment of neurological disorders, is available 24/7 to deliver a multidisciplinary approach specifically tailored to each patient. In order to ensure optimum patient care and recovery, our team provides support and education to both the patient and their families and our expert rehabilitation team delivers advanced programs and therapies on an in-patient and out-patient basis. In order to support continued improvements in the treatment of stroke, we are regularly involved in ongoing clinical stroke trials focused on exploring new options for treatment. Joint Commission SealSaint Thomas Hospital, Baptist Hospital, and MTMC have earned the Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center Certification. In addition, we also offer our regional Stroke Network, through which we partner with rural healthcare facilities to extend our services beyond Nashville and the Middle Tennessee area.
