Saint Thomas Health Services is proud to be the only organization in Middle Tennessee offering the Jobs in Healthcare (JHC) program. JHC provides participants with connections to employment in healthcare through a didactic and hands-on education program, mentorship and case management model.

Patient Care Technician (PCT) Course Are you interested in taking a step toward a healthcare career? The PCT (often referred to as a Nurse Assistant) assists in providing assigned patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The PCT course, available on the Saint Thomas Hospital campus, prepares individuals to work as team members providing direct patient care.

Course Information:

• Course available at Saint Thomas Hospital campus
• Offered on a quarterly basis (check website for dates)
• Course hours – Monday through Friday with variable daytime hours
  • Classroom 88 hours
  • Skills lab 40 hours
  • Clinical 32 hours
• Opportunity to interview with Saint Thomas Health Services upon successful completion of program.
• Prepares the participant for the Tennessee State Certified Nurse Assistant examination

You must meet these requirements to qualify.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma/GED
• Pre-placement drug screening
• *Submit to a criminal background check

*Background checks will only be run on applicants that have been selected for the program.
