Where is the class held? The class will be conducted at Saint Thomas Hospital, 4220 Harding Pike, Nashville, TN 37205.

How much does the program cost? The program is free of charge.
Will I be paid while participating in the program? Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to provide a stipend.
How big is the class? Eight (8) to sixteen (16) candidates will be chosen for the course. This number is subject to change based on the number of internal associates who opt to participate.
How does the selection process work? The selection process begins after the deadline for applications has been reached. No further applications will be accepted after the deadline has been reached. The applications are reviewed by the Jobs in Healthcare Team. Positions are offered based on both the application review and subsequent telephone interview. Candidates not selected will be contacted by email or United States Postal Service. Approximately 200 applications are received for each session; submitting an application does not guarantee course acceptance.
Will there be tests? Students will be tested weekly on content covered in class. All tests must be scored at 80% or above to graduate from the program.
What are the physical requirements? Students must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift with support and perform other physical demands are required for participation.
Do I have to come every day? You are required to attend class every day for the duration of the program. Classroom hours are from 7:00 am – 4:30 pm. Clinical hours are from 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.
If you miss more than two days, you will not be eligible to graduate unless other arrangements are made. (Three tardy occurrences count as a missing day.)
Do I have a job with Saint Thomas Health Services when I complete this course? No, but you are invited to interview with STHS Human Resources.
I am currently employed by STHS. How do I apply for admission? A maximum of 8 STHS employees can be placed in any course. The employee should meet with their manager to discuss the possibility of class participation. Managers are required to call Jobs in Healthcare at 615-222-3098 or email patrick.singleton@stthomas.org to express enrollment approval.
